Professional Development Foundation |
The VAGP Professional Development Foundation was the brainstorm of the 1996 VAGP President Terri E. Hale. Hale formed an ad-hoc committee under the direction of Jack T. Pitzer. The initial committee members included Rose M. King, Cecelia H. Stowe, Michael J. Bacile, and Raleigh J. Motley. On March 21, 1997 the Foundation by-laws were adopted by the VAGP Board of Directors. The first elections of officers were conducted during the 1998 Fall VAGP Conference in Alexandria, Virginia and the first regular Foundation meeting was held on February 12, 1999, in Richmond, Virginia. The Foundation is tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), therefore, all contributions are tax deductible. The Development Committee has begun an aggressive effort to create a six figure endowment to fund the important work the Foundation was created to accomplish. |
